Toddlerhood is officially upon us in the Cousens household (mantra = patience, patience, patience). Taylor turned 15 months old this week (say what??), and has had a huge amount of growth in the past month. She has found her independence, and refuses to let go. She now insists on brushing her own teeth, wiping her own nose, throwing her tissue away herself, putting her clothes in the laundry basket herself, climbing the stairs herself, sitting at the table with a plate/bowl and fork/spoon (no high-chair tray), walking from here to there (without being held), and doing anything else herself that she sees others doing.
She gets quite frustrated when she can't do something herself....
With the arrival of Spring, we've really been enjoying spending time outside and at the park. Taylor is only truly happy when she's outside, and requests to go outside at every opportunity.
Her vocabulary has also started to increase rapidly. Aside from saying "mama" and "dada" (which can be used interchangeably, or directed at anything), she says "no (which 50% of the time means "yes"), baby, ball, car," and "hi." She understands a lot more than she can say, and it's been very important to explain what we're about to do as much as possible to avoid a meltdown.
